In the News

  • Last month VNR completed its first year of full operation. We thank all the Valley nonprofit staff and Board members who've participated in our workshops and other events, as well as our many volunteer faculty, advisors and funders. As a "virtual" center for the San Fernando Valley's nonprofit community, we depend on all these partnerships for our effectiveness in serving nonprofits.

  • We're already planning for a vigorous, diverse 2009, with a number of workshops already confirmed. Planning also begins in November for the 2009 MENDing Poverty Conference, to be held next June at MEND.

  • This month in our eBlast to Valley nonprofits we're focusing on the variety of knowledge products that are downloadable for free from our website. Click Library to see the range of resource documents VNR offers.

  • Of particular interest is a new product in VNR's Community Voice section from Torie Osborn, long-time nonprofit and social change leader and former deputy to Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa. Her Torie's Top Ten Tips for Nonprofits to Become Change Agents is a brisk and concrete resource guide for nonprofit leaders who want to get more involved in social change, either on a local or national level. To download a free copy, click Torie's Top Ten.
